The Parent SEED Group offers monthly discussion seminars for Burke parents to explore issues of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
True to Our Mission
The Edward E. Ford Foundation awarded Burke with a grant to continue a social justice pedagogy that prepares students to recognize both individual prejudice and systemic, institutional injustice. As part of our social justice initiative, students travel to the South to witness the home of the civil rights movement, and New York City to recognize the hardships of Muslim-Americans living in New York City post-9/11.
“All that is necessary…”
An 18th-century philosopher and statesman, Edmund Burke argued on behalf of people whose rights were denied. The quote attributed to him, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing,” inspired our school’s founders and continues to influence our teaching today.
