Resistant to Labels

You don’t fit into any one box. Which makes you a perfect fit for Burke. Because like you, our students defy cliches and appreciate each other’s complex individuality.

The best way to learn is to try something new. Our no-cut policy allows you to try any activity you want. We maintain an environment where you feel safe and supported, so you can involve yourself fully in anything that interests you—bass to baseball; e-sports to environmental action; feminist cooperative to French club.

Arts

Burke considers the arts to be an integral part of our curriculum, not an extracurricular activity. Between visual arts, theater, and music, students learn to take risks, push boundaries, explore media, and express ideas. With a foundation in the arts, you’ll begin to invent creative solutions to problems in every academic area—and in all aspects of your life.

Athletics

Teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and sportsmanship—these are the goals of Burke’s athletics program. Under our no-cut policy, you can try a new sport and develop your skills under the guidance of excellent coaches. Winning is just the result.
